As the daughter of immigrants, Rachel Kurian well understands the impact that moving to a new country can have on people. “Immigration allowed my parents to gain incredible insight, by experiencing life in a new country. It has also afforded my siblings and me the opportunities for future success in the United States.” Consequently, Rachel brings a compassionate approach to her legal immigration practice. “Whether it’s for a change in job location, or to reunite with family – immigration law acts as the door for people to begin one of the most exciting experiences a person could have: beginning a fresh chapter of life, in a brand-new country.”
At FGI, Rachel works with our FGI clients who are coming to the United States on employment-based green card applications, and work within the IT sector. Specifically, her work is with multi-national manager petitions (EB-1C visas) and Form I-485 application processing. In addition, she has experience with nonimmigrant petitions (H-1B, H-4) as well as adjustment of status and employment authorization cases.
A graduate of Wayne State University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Rachel earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In her free time, she enjoys travel (having been to India, Canada, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates), indoor cycling, and Zumba. When asked for her practice philosophy, Rachel says “as much as possible, my goal is to be readily available and thoughtful towards foreign nationals, who need ongoing employment-based immigration support.”
