While seeking a position in legal services, Nick Degel found himself working in business-based immigration. As a paralegal, Nick came to appreciate the critical role that immigrants play in helping U.S. employers to fill their skills gaps. “When I realized how important foreign nationals are both to US employers and the economy as a whole,” he says, “it confirmed for me the importance of this work.”
As an attorney for Fakhoury Global Immigration, Nick manages PERM (green card) cases for one of our IT-based clients. “I am motivated,” he states, “to help US-based organizations embrace the benefits that a global workforce can bring.”
Nick earned his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Oakland University. In addition to being an avid hockey player, Nick’s interests include music, sports, history, documentaries, reading, and the Detroit area’s wealth of great restaurants. When asked to summarize his approach to business-based immigration, Nick replied “I always want to make sure every client views me as their advocate.”
