Arlind Selimi

Attorney

Arlind Selimi became an immigration lawyer because he saw the field as a unique intersection of law, human impact, and strategic problem-solving. Drawn to work that helps both individuals and businesses achieve their goals, he was inspired by the tangible difference that well-crafted immigration strategies can make. As he explains:

“I enjoy navigating complex regulations and finding solutions that help individuals remain in Canada and companies retain critical talent.”

Before joining Fakhoury Global Immigration (FGI), Arlind built a strong analytical foundation through diverse academic and professional experiences, developing expertise in policy interpretation, legal drafting, and regulatory application. His career spans from small practices to large global immigration firms, where he handled both individual-based and business immigration matters across a wide range of applications. These roles taught him how to translate complex frameworks into clear, actionable guidance, an approach that now defines his commitment to delivering practical, client-focused solutions.

As a Canadian Immigration Lawyer at FGI, Arlind focuses on business immigration and global mobility, supporting companies that rely on specialized talent to remain competitive in fast-moving sectors. His work covers the International Mobility Program (IMP), Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program, and strategic permanent residence pathways. With extensive experience in employer compliance, he ensures corporate clients remain protected while meeting critical talent needs. He regularly assists organizations in technology, engineering, manufacturing, financial services, consulting, and healthcare, facilitating efficient cross-border mobility for essential workers.

Arlind’s academic background reflects his commitment to legal excellence. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corrections at Mount Royal University, building early skills in research, critical thinking, and regulatory analysis.

Arlind is licensed as a Barrister and Solicitor by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO #78134B) and is an active member of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA). He has authored numerous articles on Canadian immigration policy and program developments, published through CILA and HTI Law Professional Corporation, covering topics such as Express Entry reform, Canada’s immigration backlog, the Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program, and provincial pilot programs.

Outside of his legal practice, Arlind enjoys an active and balanced lifestyle. He spends time outdoors, travels across Europe and the Americas, and engages in hands-on projects that allow him to recharge. These experiences enrich his global perspective and reinforce his appreciation for cultural diversity, an asset that naturally carries into his immigration work. Guided by a client-centered and strategic philosophy, Arlind shares:

“I approach immigration law with clarity, strategy, and empathy. My goal is to simplify complex processes and deliver solutions that align with compliance and client objectives while supporting individuals’ long-term goals.”
