Venezuela – Document Registration Services Temporarily Suspended

The Autonomous Service of Registration and Public Notary Offices (SAREN) has announced that document registration and notarization (authentication) services have been suspended until further notice. The suspension is due to damage to SAREN’s online systems suffered during the anti-government protests that are currently taking place in Venezuela.

It should be noted that, as part of the standard procedure of legalization and Apostille of documents, these must be previously validated by SAREN, so that consequently the legalization and Apostille services are also affected.

All employers and applicants who required documents to be validated by SAREN, legalized or Apostilled in Venezuela, should expect significant delays in this process, and in any onward applications in support of which these document are required.
