UNITED KINGDOM – Home Office Increased Immigration & Nationality Fees
March 04, 2016
The United Kingdom’s Home Office has announced the new immigration and nationality fees for 2016 that will go into effect on March 18, 2016. Unfortunately, most of the fees have been raised and some quite considerably.
The main fee changes are:
- Visas closely associated with economic growth, such as those offered to workers or students, will experience a fee increase of 2%
- Fees for visit visas will be raised by 2%
- Settlement, residence and nationality fees will experience a significant increase of 25%
- Premium processing services offered by the Home Office will be increased by 33%
As FGI previously reported, the Home Office had anticipated enacting new visa fees that aim to establish a completely self-funding system within the next few years. Moreover, these stricter procedures also attempt to limit inbound migration.
