Thailand – Additional Scrutiny on Visa Extensions
Companies extending their foreign employee visas are finding it more difficult in the regular process as authorities have become stricter, as well as further scrutinizing of the required documents. Though no official announcement or guidelines have been issued, employers are noticing increased processing times as documents are being questioned, asked for additional documents, or must provide revised documents, such as the retaking of photos.
Documents should be prepared ahead of time, as the extension may only be requested 30 days before the visa expires. The processing time of visa application extensions have not been affected at the One Stop Service Center.
