Switzerland – Bulgaria and Romania Nationals No Longer Subject To Quotas Starting June 1st

The Swiss government has confirmed that starting June 1, nationals of Bulgaria and Romania will no longer be subject to quotas. This will entitle the foreign nationals to free movement and full access to the Swiss labor market.

Therefore, Bulgarian and Romanian nationals will no longer need to apply for work permits to work in Switzerland on local employment contracts. As part of the immigration process, Bulgarian and Romanian nationals need only to register with the municipality where they live before starting work.
