SOUTH AFRICA – South African Missions in India Experiencing Processing Delays

The South African Mission in Mumbai, India has been experiencing major processing delays of work permit applications for the past two months due to the absence of the Mission’s adjudicator. The South African Mission in New Delhi has been helping with work permit processing but is now consequently experiencing delays.
There are no current methods to expedite the process and processing times may surpass 100 days in some instances. Work permit applications should be submitted at least four months prior to the planned start date with the employer. However, processing delays should continue to be expected until the Missions resolve the backlog of applications.
