SOUTH AFRICA – In-Country ICT Applications Permitted in Certain Cases

Effective immediately, certain foreign nationals holding Intra-Company (ICT) Work Visas issued prior to May 26th, 2014 will be permitted to apply for a new ICT Work Visa while still in South Africa. These ICT Work Visa holders are eligible to apply for a new ICT in-country if the cumulative duration of their assignment does not surpass four years from the date of the initial ICT Work Visa’s issuance. ICT holders whose assignments exceed four cumulative years must leave the country and apply for a new ICT Work Visa from their home country. This new directive will enable the eligible ICT holders to continue their assignments in South Africa for up to two additional years.
