SINGAPORE – Increased Minimum Salary to Sponsor Dependents
The minimum salary for work pass holders looking to sponsor dependents will increase as of September 1, 2015. To sponsor spouses and children, the new minimum salary will be SGD 5,000 per month instead of the SGD 4,000. If the work pass holder sponsors a parent, the monthly minimum salary will be SGD 10,000 instead of the current SGD 8,000. The base monthly income and any permitted monthly allowances are included in these minimum salary amounts.
Applications for Dependent passes and Long Term Visit Passes submitted before September 1, 2015, will be evaluated using the current salary standards. Renewal applications issued prior to September 1, 2015 will also be assessed based on the current criteria as long as the main pass holder remains with the same employer.
