Saudi Arabia – U.S. Nationals Visitors Now Exempt from Requiring Insurance Policy

As reported last month, short term visitors, which include business visas, commercial visit visas, work visit visas, and family visit visas, were required to purchase an insurance policy while in Saudi Arabia. However, U.S. nationals are now exempt from this requirement of purchasing the insurance policy while applying for the ‘Enjaz” registration. Its intended purpose was to cover emergency care costs for foreign nationals if they become injured while abroad.

The insurance policy ranged from USD$100-$300. Saudi Authorities received a tremendous amount of feedback from U.S. national travelers and U.S. based employers regarding the addition of the insurance policy. Due to amount of feedback, Saudi Authorities removed the requirement for U.S. nationals.
