Norway – Minimum Wage Increased
July 08, 2016
Norway has increased its minimum wage threshold by about a half percent from last year. Positions that require a Bachelor’s degree are now met at a threshold of 382,900 kroner, or about $45,500 USD. Positions that require a Master’s degree are now met at a threshold of 412,600 kroner, or about $49,060 USD.
Employers that apply for foreign workers residence permits for work should be aware of the increase of the minimum wage to remain in compliance. The increase of the minimum wage is to maintain the same pay of non-EU employees to Norwegian workers in the same occupation and area.
