NORWAY – Minimum Salary Threshold Increases for Non-EU Workers

As part of their annual salary adjustment, the Norwegian Immigration Directorate has announced and has already begun implementing the new salary threshold for non-EU workers. New and renewal Residence and Work Permit applicants with bachelor’s degrees are to be paid a minimum of NOK 380,300 per year (assuming no industry-specific collective bargaining agreement applies). Applicants with a master’s degree are to be paid a minimum salary of NOK 409,700. All first-time Residence and Work Permit and renewal applications submitted on and after July 1, 2014 are subject to the adjusted salary requirements. Employers should ensure that they comply with the new salary threshold.
