ITALY – Joint Ventures to Now Qualify for ICT Work Permits

Recent changes from Italy’s Ministry of Labor dictate that they will now issue intra-company transfer (ICT) work permits for joint ventures. Previously, non-EU foreign nationals sent to Italy by a company that has entered into a joint-venture agreement with a host company would have to apply for a Service Agreement work permit. In comparison to ICT work permits, Service Agreement work permits are characterized by much stricter requirements and longer processing times. With this clarification, businesses are offered much greater flexibility in sending foreign workers to Italy.
