Ireland – Upcoming Changes in 2020

The Review of Economic Migration Policy recommended the following changes to take effect January 1, 2020:

  • Amendment of the Labor Market Needs Test (LMNT) for the General Employment Permit to extend its duration of advertisement from two to four weeks.
  • Increase of remuneration threshold level of the Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) from €30,000/€60,000 to €32,000/€64,000.

Employers should take into account these new changes to allow for additional processing time and budget for the upcoming year.
