INDONESIA – Elimination of Provisional Permits

Effective immediately, work permit holders are no longer able to use provisional permits to allow them to bridge their stay in Indonesia as a result of a gap between the expiration of their work permits and the approval of their renewed permits. Previously, workers were granted this 30-day permit which allowed them more flexibility in their work assignments. With this change, companies and assignees must comply with the Indonesian government’s rules and pay closer attention to the expiration dates of work permits. These individuals should allow enough time to receive a renewed work permit prior to the expiration of their current work permit.
