India – Biometric Machines Introduced in Pune

The Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) in Pune, India has administered biometric recording machines into their facility. The biometric machines will record foreign national’s fingerprints and irises, as well as details of their passport and visa numbers. The machine can also be used to save time and update a foreign national’s address.
This was implemented to monitor foreign national’s personal data and passport information to curtail illegal entry into the country, as well as duplication of work.
