Finland – Close Monitoring of Salary for Foreign Workers

The Finnish Immigration Service is strictly monitoring the salary condition to foreign workers more closely. Foreign nationals deputed to Finland must be paid a gross salary that is competitive salary to that of the Finish labor market for the same qualification. Depending on the length of the assignment, the foreign national may be on foreign or home payroll, however, the gross salary indicated in the contract or offer letter should match on the payslip – if the working location is Finland. The start date on Finnish payroll should also be the same as in the Finnish contract letter or deputation letter.

Employers should ensure they remain compliant to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
