CHINA – New Foreign Employment Management System Coming Soon to Beijing

The Beijing Labour Bureau announced that they will be launching a new Foreign Employment Management System to streamline the Work Permit de-registration process. Employers in Beijing must deregister Work Permits immediately once the foreign employee has terminated their employment regardless if the Work Permit is valid or expired. Failure to comply with these requirements will cause the rejection of future Work Permit applications a foreign national may submit with another employer.

The implementation date of the Foreign Employment Management System has not yet been released. Employers should anticipate having to deregister expired and valid Work Permits that have not previously been deregistered. Cancellation of the Work Permit should be completed on an employee’s last working day or within 10 days from the last working day.
