CHINA – Chinese National Day to Close Government Offices

During October 1st – 7th, all Chinese government offices will be closed in observance of Chinese National Day. Additionally, Hong Kong will observe two days of holidays, October 1st – 2nd for National Day and for the Chung Yeung Festival. Foreign employees and employers should be aware of this and expect one-week delays in the processing of all work permit, renewal, and related government services. Sensitive matters should be handled as soon as possible prior to the closures. The Sunday before the holiday period, September 28th, and the Saturday after the holiday period, October 11th, will be official working days.
