BELGIUM – Minimum Salary to Increase for Blue Card Holders

For 2014, Belgium’s Federal Public Service of Employment and Labor Department has decided to increase the minimum salary requirement for its European Blue Card program. An annual gross salary of at least €50,974 is required for all foreign nationals applying for a Blue Card. This means any initial or renewal Blue Card applications will be rejected if they fail to meet the new salary requirement. Minimum salary requirements for Belgian work authorization programs are reviewed on an annual basis and compliance is usually enforced by the regional agency where the work authorization application has been filed.
