NBER Report – Immigrant entrepreneurs brings and innovation
June 10, 2024
- A new research report from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) argues that ‘immigrants contribute disproportionately to entrepreneurship in many countries, accounting for a quarter of new employer business in U.S.
- The NBER report also found that ‘firms founded by immigrants are 3.4-4.5% more likely to produce new technologies and less likely to use other existing technologies.
- The NBER authors concludes that ‘even beyond education and field of study, immigrant entrepreneurs tend to be more strongly linked to innovation.’
- The NBER report is accessible at: w32400.pdf (nber.org).
