Thailand – Processing Times Reduced for Work Permits

The current processing time for pre-work permit approval letters is three to seven business days. However, applicants with this type of work permit will see a reduced processing time now, of three to four business days. The reduced processing time only applies to regular work permits, and not those submitted through the Board of Investment or One Stop Service Centre. This will be beneficial for employers and foreign nationals, obtaining access to faster processing times and earlier start dates.

Furthermore, once the Work Permit application is filed, applicants will receive a confirmation of receipt and be allowed to schedule an appointment to collect the Work Permit booklet. The Work Permit booklet will only be issued to the applicant, a third party may not pick it up on their behalf. The applicant must collect the booklet on the date issued by the labor officer, otherwise the application may be rejected.
