Spain – Spanish VAC to close in India
Spain outsources its visa applications in India to VFS Global. The contract between the two is up for renewal and has not been signed yet. It is possible the Spanish Visa Application Centers in Mumbai and New Delhi may temporarily close until the renewal contract is signed.
Effective October 11, 2016, the Spanish VAC will no longer accept Schengen visa applications on the behalf of the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Mumbai in India. Foreign nationals that have appointments up until October 11 may continue to have their application processed by VFS Global.
The VFS Global will only remain operational until October 10th, regarding its website, online appointment system, call center line, and helpdesk email. After October 11, all visa applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Mumbai in India.
