NIGERIA – New Visa Policy for Resident Expatriates

Recently, the Federal Government of Nigeria has introduced a new visa policy for resident expatriates that are working in Nigeria. Re-entry visas will no longer be issued to these individuals. Instead, they are expected to hold an endorsed and valid residence permit. The residence permit, known as the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit, Alien Card form (CERPAC), or Green Card, will allow the resident expatriates free travel in and out of Nigeria within a certain duration of time without requiring the issuance of a re-entry visa in their passport for every instance of travel. Any resident expatriates who do not currently hold a Green Card are advised to obtain one within the next three months.
