LUXEMBOURG – Minimum Salary Increases for Blue Card Program

Luxembourg has increased the minimum salary requirement for its Blue Card Program. Blue Card holders must now earn an annual gross salary of at least €69,858, which is only a slight increase from the prior threshold of €69,842. The new salary threshold applies to all initial Blue Card applications, as well as, renewal applications. Initial and renewal applications that do not meet the new salary threshold will be rejected.

The minimum salary for Blue Card holders is generally adjusted annually by the Ministry of Employment. Compliance with the salary threshold is implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Employers intending to file initial or renewal applications, within Luxembourg, for the Blue Card Program should implement the increase in salary threshold and costs into their budgets.
