Israel – Labor Strikes Delay Immigration Processing
September 15, 2016
Processing delays are to be expected as workers at the Ministry of Interior office in Tel Aviv have gone on strike. It is unclear how long the strike will last for, however, services have been suspended under a directive issued by a labor union representing government workers.
As the strike continues, Israel for the most part of October will be closed in celebration for Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year), Yom Kippur, and Sukkot. Work permit application submissions will only be accepted for three days, Oct 10, 25, and 31.
