IRELAND – Processing Delays Continue to Worsen

After revising its employment permit scheme and transitioning to a new a case management system earlier this year, the Irish Department of Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation is experiencing a significant backlog of applications. Additionally, their new payment system is also causing delays in processing. As the visa office in Dublin is currently processing applications received on November 6th, the office is backlogged by about three weeks. All types of visas and permits are affected by these delays, but those made by post are taking even longer to process. Employers and employees must be aware of these delays and plan accordingly to minimize impact on business. It is suggested that these individuals apply as soon as possible.
