Ireland – Minimum Wage Increase

Effective January 1, 2017, the minimum wage increased to 9.25 Euro/hour. To comply with the new law, the base salary must be increased before the addition of allowances.

Permits that allow a low salary threshold should ensure the foreigner is being paid compliant with the new law, such as:

  • Dependent, Partner, or Spouse Employment Permits;
  • Internship Employment Permit; and
  • Atypical Working Scheme Authorization.
