INDIA & U.S. – Indian Consulate Enacts New Requirements for U.S. Business Visa Travelers

U.S. travelers applying for business visas will now be subject to new requirements enforced by the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. The new requirements will demand that the affected applicants provide their personal bank statements for the preceding six months, hotel and flight schedules, and an additional letter of support from their U.S. employer. The supplementary letter of support must include the name and company address of the individual who signed the mandatory letter of invitation and also explain the exact nature of the traveler’s activities while in India.

The new business visa requirements have currently only been implemented by the Indian Consulate in San Francisco and not by other Indian consulates at this time.
