Czech Republic – New Guidelines for Employee Card

New guidelines have been put in place that now require a foreign national applying to work over 90 days to file for an Employee Card separately from the short term work visa. Previously, the Employee Card and short term visa were filed simultaneously after the work permit was approved, to gain entry into the Czech Republic. The Employee Card is a resident permit that is issued to the foreign national after a work permit has been approved, allowing a stay of 2 years and is renewable. It is now required to obtain the Employee Card first before entering into the Czech Republic.
