CHINA – Beijing – New Work Permit Application Set to Launch in 2016

As FGI previously announced in November, the Beijing Labour Bureau will launch its new Foreign Employment Management System on January 4, 2016. In addition to the de-registration process, this new system will also directly affect the way work permits are submitted. Applications will need to be submitted online first and once the approval is granted, the physical package can be submitted. It is expected that this new procedure will extend processing times.
Additionally, all employers must now register and activate an account with the Beijing Labor Bureau before using the new online system. Companies should begin registering now to avoid delays once the new system is active.
