Belgium – Short Term ICT Enforced in Belgium

The European Union Intracompany Transferee (EU ICT) Directive was implemented in 2014 to better streamline the admission criteria for ICT transfers to the EU (excluding Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom). The deadline to implement the law was November 29, 2016, in which Belgium, among a few other Member States have failed to meet.
Even though the legislation hasn’t implemented the Directive, the Belgian Foreigners Office and regional employment authorities are enforcing the short term ICT mobility provisions. EU ICT Permit holders issued in another EU Member State may legally stay and work in Belgium for up to 90 days in any 6 month period.
